Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
