New York Giants signal-caller Russell Wilson didn't mince words on social media this Tuesday, reacting to recent comments from his ex-mentor Sean Payton.
"Classless... but not surprised...," Wilson declared on X. "Didn't realize you're still bounty hunting 15+ years later through the press."
Wilson's response pointed to the infamous bounty scandal controversy from 2009-11, when Payton was coaching the Saints.
During that period, the NFL determined that the Saints had rewarded team members for delivering aggressive tackles on rival teams. Consequently, Payton received a suspension from the NFL for a full year.

The quarterback's reaction came after Payton made remarks following Denver's remarkable 33-32 victory over the Giants. Payton suggested that the Giants had "found a little spark" with their new QB, who has replaced Wilson as the first-string QB.
Additionally, Payton implied that he had told team owner John Mara that he would prefer facing Wilson over Dart.
"I spoke to John Mara not too long ago and I said, 'We were hoping that change would've happened long after our game,'" the coach stated.
