The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the company said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
